Frequently asked questions
Plain answers about what AlphaWeg is, where its limits are, and who stays in control. If a question here touches your money, your broker, or your orders, read the answer carefully — the short version is always the same: you decide, you approve, and your funds never leave your own account.
Is AlphaWeg a broker or an investment adviser?
Neither. AlphaWeg is decision-support software: it surfaces analysis and
informational analysis for your own independent review. It is not a broker-dealer and does
not accept, hold, or route funds or securities, and it is not an investment adviser and does
not provide personalized advice or recommendations tailored to your situation.
Do you trade automatically for me?
No. AlphaWeg never places trades automatically and never exercises
discretion over your account. Every individual order is presented to you for review, and
nothing proceeds unless you personally approve it. A human — you — is in the loop on each
and every order.
Can AlphaWeg withdraw or move my money?
No. AlphaWeg never takes possession or control of your money or securities
and is not intended to permit withdrawals; scope is controlled by your broker. Your cash and
positions stay with your broker under your control at all times. The access you grant is
order-entry scope only — it cannot move funds.
What happens if I do not approve a suggested order?
Nothing happens. Analysis is informational only, and you may
reject any order for any reason. If you do not approve it, it is never routed to your broker
and no trade is placed. Declining costs you nothing and changes nothing in your account.
How do I connect my broker, and how do I revoke access?
You connect through delegated OAuth on your broker's own domain: you sign in
and approve access directly with Interactive Brokers, which issues AlphaWeg a scoped,
revocable token. You can revoke that token at any time through your broker, which immediately
ends AlphaWeg's authorized access. See our Security page for the
full model.
Do you store my broker password?
No. Your broker credentials are entered only with your broker, on its own
site. AlphaWeg never asks for, receives, or stores your broker login password. The
connection is made through a delegated authorization token, not by sharing your password.
Which brokers are supported?
Interactive Brokers is the planned first integration, connected through IBKR
delegated Web API - currently in development and pending the broker production approval; not yet
available. Additional brokers, including Colmex, are planned on the roadmap but not
yet available. IBKR is an independent third party you already use; AlphaWeg is not affiliated
with, sponsored by, or endorsed by it.
Is this available to clients in Israel?
AlphaWeg's regulatory and licensing status in Israel is currently under
review with qualified Israeli counsel, and this answer will be updated to reflect their final
determination. Nothing in the software should be interpreted as regulated investment advice or
investment marketing. Please see the Risk Disclosure for the current
status.
Do you guarantee profits or a win rate?
No. AlphaWeg makes no promise, projection, or guarantee of any level of
return or performance. Trading involves substantial risk, including the possible loss of
principal, and past or illustrative results do not indicate future outcomes. All trading
decisions, and their outcomes, are yours.
What data do you collect?
Broadly: account and contact details you provide, the delegated OAuth token
and connection metadata, the brokerage data you authorize within the approved scopes, and
basic usage and technical logs. We do not collect your broker password and cannot move your
funds. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
What are the risks?
Trading involves substantial risk of loss, and you may lose some, all, or more
than you invest. Analysis and models are informational only and can be incomplete, delayed, or
wrong, and software, data, and connectivity can fail. Read the full Risk
Disclosure before using the software, and never rely on it as your only means of monitoring
your account.
Who is responsible for my orders?
You are. Every order originates from and is confirmed by you before it routes
to your own brokerage account for execution, and you retain sole responsibility and control
over its terms, timing, and suitability. AlphaWeg does not execute trades or manage your
account, and your broker — an independent third party — handles the actual execution.
